A bit about me...

I am the CBDO for Gooding Accounts Ltd and am based at our Melksham office. I qualified as an Accountant over 10 years ago whilst my children were still very young.  

I have two children who are now both at senior school and if not out and about with them, I enjoy going to the gym and running.  I love challenges and have completed several ultra marathons. I believe that your body is capable of anything if you put your mind to it.

What's the most enjoyable thing about your work?
Meeting new people and making new connections.

What is your vision for your business?
To work with committed business owners and assisting them to achieve their business goals.

If you could give one single piece of advice to a new start up business, what would it be?
Hire an Accountant from day one to ensure you are being as tax efficient as possible, receiving the right support to help you and your business succeed and become profitable.

Which business person or company do you admire most and why?
My boss Sam, he set up the business 11 years ago from his bedroom and has built a successful firm with great values and a fantastic team.

Which one phrase or quote sums up your attitude to business life?
You get what you pay for.

What made you join WMB and how do you plan to make the most of the network?
I went to a meeting and liked the vibe. The people were all so welcoming and friendly. Making new connections is key to making the most out of the network.

What do you do at week-ends?
Run, Gym, Boxing & lots of socialising.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 2 luxury items would you take?
Gin & Tonic!

What book are you currently reading?
I'm sorry to say I'm not.

Who's your personal hero and why?
My Dad. He has had so many health issues and just battles on.

What is your worst experience in business or work?
Working on a call centre for a mobility car provider cold calling. What an horrendous experience.

What was your first ever job?
I had a paper round & then worked in a fruit & veg shop.

Where is your favourite place in the world and why?
New York. I just love the versatility and there is so much to do and see there.
