I started my business after having my son and a car accident in quick succession. Going back to my previous career as an Account Manager wasn't an option and after a few less than amazing baby photoshoots for our own family I decided I could do it better, retrained and Little Pickles by Kirsty Northover was born. A gentle, child-led boutique portrait studio where you're looked after at a calm and relaxed pace thats right for you. No clock watching, no stress. Just time for you to spend as a family, an oasis in the usual sea of busy lives with hierloom quality artwork to decorate your home at the end of it.
Personal Branding was a natural addition due to my degree in Psychology and background in sales and marketing. I love working with my branding clinets as if an image says 1000 words and an average website viewer moves on within 20 seconds we need to create images that REALLY talk to your target clients. Naturally a lot of that happens during the planning stage and I love that too as I'm a natural organiser and love a good plan!
What's the most enjoyable thing about your work?
Giving my clients the confidence to get out there and attract their ideal clients. Really professional imagery can take them from feeling a bit apprehensive to attacking their marketing with vigour!
What is your vision for your business?
To be successful enough that I can enjoy the face to face work with clients and outsource the rest! This will give me the financial and time commitment freedom that I'm seeking.
If you could give one single piece of advice to a new start up business, what would it be?
Do yourself justice on your digital platforms. Make it clear who you will benefit and talk to them directly. Get clever with your visuals as they'll hook your audience and entice them to read the words.
Which business person or company do you admire most and why?
Sue Bryce Photographer. She's the stereotypical rags to riches story and she's now a champion of collaboration. I love how she wants to raise the bar by helping everyone be better and more successful. She doesn't worry about competition, she stays in her own lane and nails it.
Which one phrase or quote sums up your attitude to business life?
Believe, Act, Review and Repeat!

I wanted to be part of a professional network of inspiring women that I could both refer to and gain referrals from.

Moisturiser and my kindle
