Questioning Normal

A bit about me...

When asked about my work, I typically explain that I have two main areas of focus: my day job and my passion project.

In my day job, I currently hold the position of Senior Operations Analyst, specialising in the dividends and corporate actions sector. Additionally, I serve as a D&I Partner, overseeing diversity and inclusion initiatives.

My passion project, which I fondly refer to as my "gay job," involves running my own company called Questioning Normal. Through this venture, I deliver award-winning talks and conduct training sessions on inclusivity. I also share my personal experiences as a queer, non-binary, hard of hearing, coeliac individual, which I often humorously describe as being a walking diversity tick box.

My career began in a contact centre for a life and pensions provider, despite my initial aversion to office work and phone-based roles. However, this trend has persisted throughout my career as I progressed within the company and later transitioned to other organisations. Over time, my focus shifted towards system migration projects and more technically oriented positions within the finance industry.

I am deeply passionate about advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and actively engage in various roles within this space. These include being recognised as a British LGBT Top 10 Inspirational Leader and a gamechanger on LGBT Great's Top 100 list. I also serve as a Volunteer Regional Ambassador for It Gets Better UK, a Country Ambassador and mentor for myGwork, a Diversity Role Model, and most recently, an ambassador for Includability.
