Alexis Prior Nutrition

Nutritional Therapy and Health Coaching for Women Over 40. I help women achieve vibrant good health and change their relationship to food and lifestyle.

A bit about me...

As a Person

I live in the beautiful city of Bath with my wonderful husband. I love all things health-related and endeavour to walk the talk, whilst being realistic about wine, coffee and cake! I practice Crossfit, paddleboard, walk in nature, throw myself into as much cold water as possible and love to travel and immerse myself in different cultures and cuisines. I love to challenge myself and am keeping my brain active with piano lessons and continuous learning and development.

As a Business

I graduated from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition over a decade ago and completed the Institute for Functional Medicine AFMCP module in 2018.  Realising that midlife women are more than biochemical pathways, I went on to certify as a Health Coach in 2021 and now combine both modalities in my practice.  It's not just about what we need to do, it's how, when, where, why we do it and who we are being when we do it too! We don't need need more information, we need simplicity, accountability and solutions that work for our busy lives and our personal health.

All prospective clients are offered a free 45-minute Clarity Call before working with me as I believe it's important for both of us to feel great about working with each other.

"Corporate Menopause Awareness Sessions We were very happy to work with Alexis Prior on delivering menopause awareness session to different targeted audiences across our organisation (all employees, managers, women, people team). Alexis is very knowledgeable on the topic of menopause, nutrition and is able to share valuable information and resources. She was able to build the content and make it very relevant to the specific audiences, as well as deliver the sessions in an engaging way using scientific knowledge, facts as well as helpful practical information. This is still a challenging topic and can get very personal and the sessions that we were doing for a very first time were really positively received. Our People team learned what are the important areas to consider in terms of policy, benefits and awareness. Our managers got important insight into managing team members that are going through peri-menopause in a compassionate way that does not inhibit their career development. Our short-course participants really engaged in deeper understanding of the physical process and also where to look for help, support and knowledge. It was a real pleasure to work with Alexis, I felt she really listed to our needs as we were pioneering the topic in our organisation! "

"For a while I had been experiencing low energy and have been unable to shift extra pounds, no matter what I ate. I had a lot of weight accumulating around my stomach and I thought I might have thyroid issues. I was keen to participate in Alexis’ 6-week Metabolism Mastery class though a bit hesitant that it would help. From week 1, Alexis gave practical, useful advice that I could begin to implement immediately. The sessions were very interactive, and Alexis took the time to answer questions and ask about my personal experience/situation. She followed up by WhatsApp to hold me accountable for the goals I set each week. Each week built on from the week before and the technical aspects were very well explained. I was shocked that after only one week, I already noticed a difference in my energy levels and no longer had to go and take an afternoon nap. After 3 weeks I had already lost 3.5 kg and was eating more than normal! Alexis is so knowledgeable, approachable and willing to help. She teaches you how to change your eating habits and therefore live a healthier lifestyle. I am so happy I participated in this course. It was truly life changing. The tips and hacks are so simple and I do not feel deprived at all. I was the type of person who was always hungry, even right after a meal, and now I can go 5 hours plus without thinking about food. Sometimes, when it is time to eat, I am not even hungry! I also no longer felt bloated. Even when on holiday I was able to maintain my healthy eating habits when eating out and had so much energy throughout my trip. "

"Jane R, Dec 22 I found Alexis following a recommendation from a friend. Having struggled with my weight all my life, as I entered the menopause it had become ever harder to lose the pounds. More importantly I was feeling tired, lethargic and irritable and being happy with my body felt like an increasingly unattainable goal. Alexis offered everything I was looking for. Tools and techniques that I could use every day (and some great recipes that I still cook now!), as well as helping me to consider my relationship with food and how I wanted to change that for the better. Alexis provided a really safe space in which to talk openly and honestly, as well as challenging my own perceptions about myself and reframing those with me. The combination of health coaching and nutritional therapy that Alexis uses is excellent. Her 12 week programme is well-structured, giving sufficient time to really work on the main issues whilst also ensuring personal progress so that at the end of the course it is really easy to see the impact. Thanks to Alexis, I have a very different relationship with food – I have made lasting changes to what and how I eat. I have lost weight, and more importantly feel positive and upbeat and in control. This has been great for me – but also my family who have all benefited from the work I have done with Alexis. I would not hesitate to recommend her 12 week programme – it has made a lasting difference to my life. "
