Carers Collective is a space for lived experience carers to come together and find connection and resources to ease isolation, boost wellbeing and encourage empowerment.

A bit about me...

At my recent Bristol South group, as part of the one-minute round, I was asked what cocktail I would describe as. My answer was “The Rainbow Paradise”.

As the name suggests, the Rainbow Paradise is a striking colourful cocktail that’s packed full of layers and complimentary flavours. I think it sums me up to a tee.

Foremost, I’m a single mum, to my amazing 16-year-old son Elijah, who has many health complications and complex care needs resulting from a brain injury he sustained at 18 months.

This also makes me his carer and care manager for his large team of care staff. A role which requires many skills and which has led me to develop and grow both personally and professionally.

Wanting to share my knowledge and experience to help others, I set up the data-mce-href="https://www.carers-collective.co.uk" href="https://www.carers-collective.co.uk/">Carers Collective. At the Carers Collective, we aim to empower and support carers by providing coaching and resources to help manage stress, burnout and the day to day challenges of being a carer. Whether you are feeling overwhlemed, exhausted or needing new skills to manage your caring role, our coaching can help.

I am the CEO and founder of Elijah’s Hope CIC. Elijah’s Hope is an online organisation that offers information and support to individuals and families affected by the rare condition, Apert Syndrome.

I am an avid learner and am always developing my skills. I am keen to not only change the experience of carers everywhere but to remove any blocks which stop us living our best lives.

As an expert by experience, I’m available for booking as a public speaker or expert consultant on a wide range of issues from postural care and therapeutic night-time positioning to non-verbal communication and managing a care package.
